Naval Ship Under Construction at Shipyard

Thomas Hudner is the 66th ship of the Arleigh Burke series of destroyers. This class of ship was restarted after the replacement, the Zumwalt Class, a “stealth destroyer”, was prematurely canceled due to cost overruns and numerous malfunctions. $23 Billion dollars was spent and 3 were built before the end. One of these, at the dock just out of the picture, is back at the shipyard for one of its many repairs, including an engine replacement which cost $20 Million.
