This is the first stage of the hydro-fracking process in the Bakken shale oil play: drilling down to the oil-bearing strata of rock, and then changing the direction of the drill, and following the layer to extend the length of the “frack” as far as possible, then doing it again in a different direction. Presumably there will be a frack under the farmhouse..
